About MEEC
Murwillumbah Early Education Centre
Early Education & Care Built On Trust
Murwillumbah Early Education Centre (MEEC) was established in mid-2016 to address the growing need for a high quality early education and care service in Murwillumbah.
MEEC was established in a lovingly renovated historical Queenslander located on the banks of the picturesque Tweed River with Mt Warning views from the back verandah. The centre was originally a single-story house, built in 1907 then raised in 1985 after the 1974 flood.
The house in its time was a local landmark and with the renovation has kept many of its original features such as VJ walls, hardwood floorboards and corrugated iron ceilings. The old world charm and hospitality have been preserved and nurtured during the building’s conversion from family home to early education and care centre.
MEEC’s playground is designed specifically with children in mind. From the natural play spaces, to the bike track, veggie patch, slide, mud play area and magical pathway, it’s all about discovery and wonder and learning through play.
Inside is just as wonderful with four rooms to cater for all ages, from 6 week old babies all the way through to preschool age children. Our Step Up transition to school program operates in two specialty preschool rooms with maximum 16 and 20 children respectively.
Our motto is and will continue to be: to give all our children opportunities for life

Our Philosophy
“We guide children to successfully transition from home life to school life.”
MEEC is built on a foundation of trust built over many years at our sister centre Toddle Inn, also in Murwillumbah. We appreciate that the responsibility of caring and educating young children is not handed to us lightly. Our relationships with all our children and their families are extremely important to us and we aim to and provide the best experience possible for our young children.
We are extremely proud to foster a culture of Belonging, Being and Becoming for our local community and we work hard to bridge the gap between home and school by incorporating play based learning in everything we do. We firmly believe in play as a foundation for all learning in the early years.
Through it all, we never lose sight of our vision: to give all our children opportunities for life.
What our parents have to say…

"Our children feel valued and safe"
A huge thank you to Kuljit and the amazing team of educators for their commitment and passion. We all notice the efforts everyone there puts in to make the children feel valued and safe while they are both having fun and learning.

"You are all superstars!"
My first day at work was my son’s first day away from me in care and also MEEC’s very first day of being open. Since day one you have all been so incredibly wonderful with my son. He absolutely loves daycare and I can’t express how grateful I am that he has such wonderful caring teachers looking after him. You are all superstars!

"A loving and supportive environment"
I wanted to say a big thank you to you and your wonderful staff at MEEC for providing a loving and supportive environment for Naiah to learn and grow. We have both really enjoyed her time there, and I know for certain Naiah will most definitely miss the amazing girls there that have taken care of her over the last year.
